For centuries the mighty dragon terrorized these lands. Every warrior, knight, and mercenary sent to rid this scourge from their domain was disintegrated by the dragon's terrible fiery breath. Then the dragon would annihilate whatever township, or shire they came from as a lesson to the others.

Finally, the populace decided to appease the invincible beast with tribute. Aside from a seasonal offering of treasure, once a generation, all the maidens of royal blood were summoned by the dragon and he would select the fairest one for his companion.

Thus by great beauty and lavish treasure was the monster's terrible temper sated. The princess is truly in a gilded cage. Her chains are made of jeweled platinum and she is surrounded by the dragon's immense hoard. In one score years, he will free her, if she does not anger him, and she will be replaced by a new prisoner.

The magi align the very fabric of reality into a pattern that suits the Elven kind. Their beautiful queen must sit at her throne and view the powerful colorful spectacle as a matter of protocol. The ageless monarch has seen the annual event hundreds of times so she is quite blase' about the whole affair. To keep from getting bored, she makes sure to have a fine book on hand of her favorite tales of adventure, one of the only luxuries she can afford now that she has so many responsibilities.

I hope you like this one. I sure do. I will make more and post as soon as I can. Much distraction at home. Must blaze a path to keep this project going! ;) Hope to see you back then...

The beautiful Queen of the Mermaids coils comfortably in her coral bed kingdom. She sits with a regal grace as she meets the viewer's gaze. Light flickers down on the warm waters of her aquamarine realm.

This is the last of the mermaid series. Definitely NOT the last mermaid ACEO I will be doing; not even in the short term. I will be doing more mermaids and soon. I will simply be exploring other subjects from now on as well.

Things on the homefront are really full of upheaval, stress, and uncertainty. That was the major reason I haven't posted in a while.

Meditating on the ancient texts, the mermaid sits in the gardens of a place that is both a nunnery and a university for her kind. Learning the mystical powers over flora and fauna and other mysteries that only mermaids know, the young acolyte strengthens her bonds with the natural world and grows stronger every day.

The stag strides confidently through a fragrant and verdant field. The mermaid fairy rides him carrying very fine things in the small chests on either side of her.

I didn't post yesterday because there was a storm here in Los Angeles. It knocked out about half my block from the grid. Power finally came back on early this morning and I finished them up and posted as soon as I could. I hope you like them.

The bobcat makes a nimble mount for the mermaid fairy. Rocks, trees, and other obstacles that she would not be able to traverse even if she did have legs are an effortless jaunt for the furry feline. So strong is are the mermaid fairy's influence over the wild things of this world, that even the bobcat's natural inclination to prey on the fish-tailed beauty is set aside in friendship and loyal service.

The mermaid was very small for her kind and never thought that she would ever meet anyone as diminutive as she. Then she met the little men who were charming and invited her to a seaside banquet. When she tasted their delicious food she fell into a deep slumber. She woke hours later in the state you see her here. She pleads with her captors to take her to the water and set her free. They only assure her she will not be harmed and that she will be offered as a tribute to their king.
